Deany has been guest lecturer and taught finance classes for real estate schools and community colleges and has conducted finance seminars for a multitude of real estate offices. She is a member of the National, Texas and Houston Mortgage Broker Associations, Houston Association of Realtors, the Women’s Council of Realtors, and both the Texas and National Association of Realtors. In addition, she has been active in Professional Mortgage Women’s Association, Toastmasters, American Businesswomen's Association, Houston Chamber of Commerce, past president Daughters of Liberty Republican Women, Toastmasters and has been a recipient of Who’s Who in American Women. Serving on the executive board for the Texas Federation of Republican Women, Deany was public relations chairman editing a quarterly newsletter with a distribution of 13,000. She has served on the board of directors of Central Pregnancy Care Center having served in numerous capacities, including fundraising gala chairman, secretary, and chairman of the board. As an active member of Second Baptist Church she has served on numerous committees including the Christian Life Committee. Deany and her husband, Ron, have also served as co-coordinators for Harris County Christian Coalition. Favorite pastimes include church activities, spoiling her nine grandchildren, entertaining, cooking for family and friends, and traveling to far away places.
